Value City Furniture enhances Web site

Now displays more than 12,000 products

DAYTON, N.J. — Top 100 store Value City Furniture of New Jersey has launched a redesigned Web site that displays more than 12,000 furniture and mattress products from 33 manufacturers.

The site at www.valuecitynj.com was developed by FurnitureDealer.net, a provider of Web sites and Internet marketing services for the home furnishings industry. One goal of the redesign was to make the site more contemporary.

"A key reason consumers use the Internet is because they can choose the most relevant content," said Mitch Keller, manager of Value City Furniture. "So we updated the look and feel, using trendy colors."

Keller said the second goal was to increase usability. "The only negative comments we heard from customers about our old Web site was information overload. The new design is less cluttered, more streamlined. All the information is still there, just not all at once."

"The new Web site includes a clean layout to reduce confusion and innovative, two-stage menus to help users get quickly from whatever page they're on to any other page on the Web site," said Andy Bernstein, president of FurnitureDealer.net. "Intuitive navigation controls are important because 55% of visitors to Value City's Web site enter from search engines to pages other than the home page."
