ATLANTA — ATLANTA — Dennis J. Kreson has been named senior area rug buyer for CCA Global Partners and will oversee rug-buying strategies for over 2,000 cooperative and franchised stores in the United States, Canada and abroad.
CCA's operating units include Carpet One, Flooring America, International Design Guild, Rug Decor, Floor Expo, Stone Mountain and Georgia Carpet Outlet. Kreson also will be responsible for rug programs at Pro Source, CCA's distributor arm.
He will be based in Atlanta and report to Mike Cherico, CCA's senior vice president of buying.
Kreson most recently headed buying for International Design Guild, CCA's retail co-op specializing in high-end floor covering and home fashions. Before that he was with Carpetland USA, the big floor covering specialty store chain, for 10 years. He began his floor-covering career as a buyer with Joseph Horne in Pittsburgh.
In his new post, Kreson said his principal objective is to establish an aggressive growth strategy for rugs in the various types of stores under the CCA umbrella. "We are now meeting with the heads of the various divisions to determine the course we will take," he said.
The goal is to develop assortments that will keep the various chains differentiated, Kreson said. "There will be an overlap of core products, but each operating unit will have rugs that will be unique," he said.
