Thomasville sponsors performance

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, November 12, 2001

Thomasville Furniture Inds. is the lead sponsor for a one-night production of "The World of Nick Adams," a play set for Nov. 19 at Lincoln Center here.

The performance will benefit the Assn. of Hole in the Wall Gang Camps. Founded by Paul Newman in 1988, the camps are retreats for thousands of children coping with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

An all-star cast led by Newman and Meryl Streep will act in the play, based on short stories by Ernest Hemingway. Thomasville, whose Ernest Hemingway Home furniture collection is based on the writer's homes and his travels, also is providing furniture for the stage set. The cast will autograph the pieces, which will be auctioned off after the show to further benefit the camps.
