King Hickory collection satisfies nesting needs

HIGH POINT — Believing that consumers will not only be spending more time cocooning but also nesting, King Hickory is at market with the Great Rooms Collection, an expanded line of upholstered furniture designed to facilitate lifestyle shift.
" 'Nesting' will be a much used word in upholstered furniture in the near and distant future and we think the Great Rooms Collection is the perfect vehicle for the consumer that is looking for that very special look and feeling of coziness," said John Palmer, King Hickory vice president.
He said the expanded collection, first introduced in April, contains both new fabric options as well as a new, loose pillow silhouette. Comfort is improved by down-proof ticking cushioning and eight-way hand-tied springing, he added.
The collection now features six frames offered as sofas, loveseats and chair with ottoman. Cover choices include fabric with or without nailhead trim, leather and fabric combination, or all leather.
Suggested retails are expected to range from $1,099 to $1,399 for fabrics and $1,599 for the leather and leather-fabric combos.
"What we are bringing to market is the best of both worlds," Palmer said. "Since we have put together a one-price program, it is easy for the retailers to sell and just as easy for the consumer to understand."
