About this survey

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, December 31, 2005

Furniture/Today's ranking of the Top 25 Furniture Sources for the U.S. Market ranks companies according to 2003 furniture shipments to the United States. Sources on the list must sell into the U.S. market, regardless of whether they have manufacturing, assembling operations or corporate offices in the United States.

Non-furniture and non-manufacturing revenues, such as investment income, are excluded for purposes of the ranking. Contract furniture revenues are included in the figures, because many companies don't report them separately from residential revenues. In addition, sales of certain decorative accessories are reported in notes when available.

A total revenue figure is listed separately for those companies that have revenues outside these categories and for those that sell outside the United States.

All figures are for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2003 and 2002, unless otherwise indicated.

The Top 25 Furniture Sources for the U.S. Market was compiled by News Editor Jay McIntosh, Director of Market Research Kay Anderson, Senior Research Specialist Dana French and Database Coordinator Cynthia Myers.
