Guardsman
Grand Rapids, Mich. — Guardsman, a supplier of furniture protection products and a business unit of Valspar, has made two staff additions.
Anne Kik has joined the company as marketing manager of the field services group.
Kik has spent the past seven years in the contract furniture industry. The main focus of her job at Guardsman will be the development of marketing support materials, brand management and identification and research of strategic growth areas.
Chris Taylor has joined Guardsman as regional sales manager of the field services group.
Taylor has worked for several furniture industry publications. In his new position, he will be responsible for penetrating targeted accounts, recruiting channel partners and expanding market share in his region.
Kik and Taylor report to Marty Durkin, director of sales and marketing.

Dave Sommer, Sommer Sales & Marketing, Springfield, Vt., is president. Jack Campbell, Woodcraft Inds., State College, Pa., was elected vice president. Barbara Murphy, Finish It!, Madison, Wis., is treasurer, and Randy Sain, Barewood Furniture, Hendersonville, N.C., is secretary. Sylvia Thompson, Sonshine Furniture, Aurora, Colo., is past president.
Lance Frye, Knock on Wood, Woodbridge, Va., is the new retailer board member for the Southern region. Ramin Gilani, Inwood Furniture Mfg., Forney, Texas, is the new manufacturer board member, and Bobbie Korneder, Kimball and Co., Keego Harbor, Mich., is the new sales representative board member. Larry Moore, Westview Products, Dallas, Ore., is the new manufacturer board member for the Western region.
