Kingsdown gets patent on Dormo

High Point — Kingsdown has received a patent for key elements of its DormoDiagnostics system.
Based on more than 12 years of sleep research, development and testing, the computerized DormoDiagnostics system scientifically determines a consumer's body profile and specifies the sleep system that best suits his or her needs.
U.S. patent No. 6,571,192 recognizes the technology that enables the DormoDiagnostics process to specify the optimum sleep surface for two sleeping partners with different needs.
"DormoDiagnostics changed the way bedding is purchased by scientifically determining the sleep system that provides ideal postural alignment for each individual, as well as for couples," said Eric Hinshaw, Kingsdown's chairman and chief executive officer.
"It is a significant breakthrough that the Patent Office has recognized the DormoDiagnostics technology."
