Wilmington, Del. — Invista, formerly known as DuPont Textiles & Interiors, has formed a non-equity, strategic alliance agreement with Foss Mfg., a vertically integrated producer of specialty synthetic fibers and engineered, non-woven fabrics.
Under the terms of the agreement, Invista will be a global marketer of Foss' proprietary technologies for the apparel and home textiles categories. Foss will continue to market its technologies in the technical and industrial categories, including such areas as filtration and wound care, mattresses and health care.
As part of Invista's strategy to partner with global industry leaders to leverage and outsource technologies, the alliance with Foss follows recently announced agreements with Huvis, Outlast, Shinkong and Ciba.
Foss, established in 1954 in Hampton, N.H., has facilities in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The company supplies the decorative, retail, automotive and technical industries.
Invista is a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont composed of three businesses: Apparel; Interiors and Industrial; and Intermediates. Invista's brands include Lycra, Teflon, Stainmaster, Antron, Coolmax, Thermolite, Cordura, Supplex and Tactel.
