La-Z-Boy honors top dealer stores

Las Vegas — La-Z-Boy honored its top-performing La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries at the company's conference here for owners of its freestanding proprietary stores.
The awards were based on 2002 shipments.
"These awards are our way of saying thank you to some of the people that help make our company one of the most successful in the industry," said Ken Salm, vice president of sales for La-Z-Boy.
The top 10 performing gallery stores were those in Glendale, Mesa and Scottsdale, Ariz., operated by Ed Breunig; in Fairfax, Annapolis and Alexandria, Va., and in Rockville, Md., all operated by Roy Couch; in Sterling Heights, Mich., operated by Paul Opfermann; in Mishawaka, Ind., operated by Jim Walz; and in Roseville, Calif., operated by Jim and Liz Reego.
Top-performing stores in small markets were those in Springfield, Ill., operated by Sande Hilst; in Tucson, Ariz., operated by David Findlay; and in Reno, Nev., operated by Don and Becky Gruner.
New Furniture Galleries of the year were the stores in Oxnard, Calif., operated by Sandy and Joan Schatz; and in Middletown, N.Y., operated by David and Marty Katz and Keith and Arlene Woronoff.
The top-performing Canadian stores were those in Calgary, Alberta, operated by Cam Davidson; in Edmonton, Alberta, operated by Mohammed Moussa; and in Burlington, Ontario, operated by Tony Reis.
