High Point — The National Home Furnishings Assn. will conduct an "Advertising Boot Camp" for retailers who want to build sales.
The one-day program, set for Nov. 9 at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood, Fla., will bring participants up to date on creative media strategies that attract shoppers and increase sales.
The program is designed to meet the needs of top executives and managers, as well as ad creators and media buyers.
A session on Creative Problem Solving, by Margo Berman of Global Impact, a marketing and public relations specialist, opens the program. She will discuss tried-and-true methods for improving advertising results while encouraging participants to look at advertising problems and solutions in a new way.
Other members of the faculty include the principals in Horich Parks Lebow Advertising, a Baltimore-based agency specializing in the home furnishings industry. Led by Charlie Horich, president and chief executive officer, the Horich Parks team will explore topics such as budgeting, media buying, successful television advertising and direct mail.
Participants are invited to bring successful ads to be presented at a "Best Ideas" contest.
The program costs $299 for NHFA members and $399 for non-members.
