Savannah, Ga. — The first multi-divisional meeting in the American Furniture Manufacturers Assn.'s new meeting format was held at the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort here earlier this month, bringing together four AFMA divisions.
Some 150 executives from the manufacturing, suppliers, information technology and purchasing divisions gathered in this port city to discuss, among other things, imports and the industry's response to their impact, e-commerce, and improving supply chain management.
The three-day agenda included ample time for golf, tennis, a tour of Savannah's port and networking. Kicking off the meeting, titled "Accelerating Competitiveness: Global Leadership Through Innovative Supply Chain Management," was a cocktail reception and dinner.
