High Point — Five college students have been chosen to receive Celia Moh Scholarships for the 2003–2004 academic year. The scholarships will pay each student's full costs, including tuition, room, board, books and fees.
The scholarship recipients are:
-
Krista L. Aglio, a sophomore at High Point University majoring in interior design and home furnishings marketing.
-
Joshua S. Inman, a junior at North Carolina State University majoring in industrial engineering and business management.
-
John H. Leake IV, a senior at Appalachian State University majoring in furniture studies.
-
Elena A. O'Brien, a junior at East Carolina University majoring in interior design.
-
Susan A. Sheek, a junior at Appalachian State University majoring in interior design and business management with a minor in furniture manufacturing.
The five recipients join four other students who received scholarships last year and who are eligible to renew them for the upcoming academic year.
The Celia Moh Scholarships were established in 2001 by the late furniture importing pioneer Laurence Moh to honor his wife, Celia. Funded by Moh's initial gift of $3 million, the program provides full scholarships for students whose academic endeavors logically would lead to careers in home furnishings.
