Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Sears has named Mindy Meads executive vice president, soft lines, replacing Kathryn Bufano, who has left the company.
Bufano joined Sears in January 2002 in the new post, which was designed to revitalize Sears' soft lines business, which includes home fashions lines such as mattresses and area rugs.
Meads has been head of merchandising and design for Lands End, which Sears acquired last year. She will retain oversight responsibilities for Lands End as well.
Sears also has named Bill White, formerly head of the retailer's automotive business, as executive vice president, store operations. He succeeds Mary Conway, who has left the company.
