Retailers win 'early bird' prizes for Toronto preregistration

Toronto — Four retailers have won "early bird" prizes for preregistering to attend this weekend's Toronto Summer Furniture Show.
Some 408 stores preregistered for the show, organized by the Ontario Furniture Manufacturers Assn.
The winners are Cynthia Brick of Brick's Fine Furniture in Winnipeg, Manitoba, who receives three nights' accommodation at the Carlton Place Best Western Hotel; Ken Edwards, owner of Leon's Furniture in Chatham, Ontario, who will receive two tickets to the Retailer of the Year gala; Jim Burke of Burke's Countrywide in Sydney, Nova Scotia, who will receive a car rental from Budget Rent-A-Car; and Carol Alfieri of Meubles Princesse in Montreal, who will receive round-trip airfare to Toronto or C$500.
During the weekend, attending retailers also will have the opportunity to win C$25,000 worth of furniture to sell in their stores.
