OFMA taps Tepperman as top retailer

Mississauga, Ontario — Bill Tepperman, president of Tepperman's Furniture, has been named Retailer of the Year by the Ontario Furniture Manufacturers Assn.
He will be honored at a dinner on June 6 in Toronto, just prior to the summer market. OFMA launched the annual award last year to recognize excellence in Canadian furniture retailing.
Tepperman took over the Windsor, Ontario-based family business in 1970 on the death of his father. Since then it has grown from a single store to a five-unit chain with two stores in Windsor and one each in Chatham, London and Sarnia. Next month, the company will celebrate its 78th anniversary.
In addition to running the business, Tepperman also has been involved in a long list of industry and community organizations.
"This is recognition of the efforts of our team," Tepperman said of the award. "I've been fortunate over the years to gather about me some bright young people who are aggressive and dedicated. They've really made a difference."
Two of his children, Andrew and Noah, are involved in the business.
