OWA readies merchandising programs

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 13, 2003

Oriental Weavers of America will introduce a series of merchandising programs during the International Rug Market, Jan. 17–20 in Atlanta.

OWA's new Area Rug Gallery is aimed at independent furniture and floor covering retailers that do not have large hanging-rack rug departments. The space-saving system presents 2- by 4-foot samples of 60 best-selling designs.

Each design is available in five standard sizes. The assortment includes traditional, contemporary/transitional, New West, French country and safari styles.

The gallery comes complete with pre-selected rugs and various sales tools. Regular fashion updates are included. The 3 by 6 display unit requires minimal floor space and no inventory. Orders are drop-shipped to consumers' homes from OWA's Dalton facility.

OWA also will unveil the Continuous Roll Runner merchandiser, which features 20 new patterns in four design themes. The 31-inch-wide runner can be custom ordered in lengths up to 60 feet.
