New York — Michael Lerner has relinquished his posts as president and CEO of high-end franchise retailer Roche-Bobois USA and will serve as business consultant to the 28-store European contemporary chain.
Gilles Bonan succeeds him as president, based in Paris, where he also is a senior financial executive with Roche-Bobois International. No successor has been named as CEO.
Oliver Cardon, who joined the U.S. division as vice president in 2002, was named executive vice president and chief operating officer. He had been with the parent company.
Lerner joined Roche-Bobois in 1989 as vice president from Hickory Mfg./Kay-Lyn/Chaircraft. Earlier, he had been with Founders Furniture and Bernhardt, and began his career at B. Altman department store.
As a Roche-Bobois consultant, Lerner will be involved in all aspects of the company's activities. His New York-based consulting business will serve other clients in furniture and franchising.
