Mebane, N.C. — Kingsdown received two Product of the Year awards at Capt'n Snooze's annual awards program in Australia.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Capt'n Snooze is Australia's leading specialty bedding retail chain. Founded in 1974, the chain merged with franchised bedding group Bedpost in 1992 and today has 77 stores throughout the country.
Each store casts one vote for Metro Product of the Year and one vote for Regional Product of the Year. Kingsdown's DormoDiagnostics program won both awards this year, a first in the award's 25-year history.
"Capt'n Snooze has been holding its annual meeting for 25 years, and never has one company been chosen to offer a product that wins both of our categories," said Drew Warren-Smith, marketing manager at Capt'n Snooze. "We offer a mix of products, but in the end, Kingsdown's DormoDiagnostics program was the biggest factor in substantially increasing our overall sales."
The criteria for being chosen for the product of the year awards include innovation in design, style and technology; marketing advantage; and the ability to generate profit for Capt'n Snooze.
"We are truly honored to be chosen as having Best Product by Capt'n Snooze," said Lee Hinshaw, vice president of sales and marketing at Kingsdown. "This award is quite a testament to our commitment of providing dealers with the most effective tools that enable the conversion of prospects to loyal customers."
