Moe's Home Collection
Richmond, Calif. — Glenda Ray has been named chief operating officer of Moe's Home Collection Wholesale Division, reporting to Moe Samieian Sr., founder and CEO of the accent furniture resource.
Ray previously worked at CBK for 12 years, first as national sales manager and the last five as vice president of marketing, responsible for all showrooms, licensing programs, advertising, creative services and marketing. She has over 21 years experience in the home accent and gift industries.
"Glenda comes to us with great experience and contacts in the industry, which will increase our status as one of the leading designers and manufacturers of quality accent furniture and accessories," said Samieian. "She will be a great asset to our team."
Regal Fabrics
Middleton, Mass. — Gil Tavares has joined Regal Fabrics as vice president, a new position.
A long-time Northeast sales representative for Quaker Fabric, Tavares reports to Regal President Steve Kahan, and is based in Middleton.
"Gil will allow us to be more aggressive in sales," Kahan said. "We've been successful in making more fabrics in China, and offering better designs."
Regal also has hired Paula Becker, a former design manager for Quaker in the jobber market. She also will specialize in the jobber market for Regal, Kahan said.

STI
Kings Mountain, N.C.—David Hancock has joined fabric manufacturer STI as a member of the company's Southeast region sales team.
Hancock, a 22-year veteran of the furniture industry, was most recently a sales rep for Quaker Fabric.
Prior to joining Quaker in 1999, he was a rep for Tietex International. He started his career in marketing and merchandising with PeopLoungers.

Lane Home Furnishings
TUPELO, Miss. — Lane Home Furnishings has promoted Amy Patterson to assistant merchandise manager for recliners and reclining furniture.
Patterson joined Lane in 1998 in the cost accounting department before moving to the marketing department in 2003 and most recently to the procurement department.
She reports to Gentry Long, vice president of upholstery.
Valdese Weavers
Valdese, N.C. — Houssam Rayess has joined fabric supplier Valdese Weavers as export manager.
He is responsible for sales in Lebanon, Spain, South America, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Dubai of the Valdese Weavers, Valdese Weavers Contract, Valdese International Products, Home Fabrics by Wesley Mancini and Circa 1801 lines.
Before joining Valdese, Rayess was a sales representative for Quaker Fabric.
Cynthia Parrish, Valdese director of international sales and marketing, said, "Houssam brings with him the strong customer relations, industry perspective and export logistics needed to propel our export sales to the next level."
