De Lange, president of Philippines-based case goods manufacturer Ligna Designs, will serve a two-year term.
He also has served as president of the Chamber of Furniture of the Philippines.
He replaces Dato Yong Seng Yeow, president of the Malaysian Furniture Inds. Council and immediate past chair of the AFIC.
In a statement, De Lange said he was honored to be given the responsibility and to be able to take on such a dynamic role in the industry.
