Radio-frequency ID workshop set Sept. 14
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, September 10, 2007
Tupelo, Miss. — The Franklin Furniture Institute at Mississippi State University will offer Sept. 14 a free workshop here on radio-frequency identification, and its potential in furniture warehouse and supply chain management.
RFID is an emerging computer-enabled, radio-based asset tracking technology used by organizations such as Wal-Mart and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Workshop sessions will include an overview, tours of two warehouses, and a look at how RFID relates to the furniture industry. Attendees will meet in the Tupelo Furniture Market Building 5 lobby and travel by bus to Memphis, Tenn., for the tours and lunch, then return to Tupelo for a session on RFID requirements.
The event is geared to anyone associated with a furniture manufacturer or distributor; warehouse, IT/CS systems and manufacturing managers; and customers or distributors invited by manufacturers.
Space is limited. Register by contacting Steve Taylor or Debbie Miller at the Franklin Furniture Institute at (662) 325-6787 or director@ffi.msstate.edu.
