Johnson is Trade Masters sourcing, product director

Peachtree City, Ga. — Case goods importer Trade Masters has named Jay Johnson director of sourcing and product development, a new position.
He most recently was vice president of case goods at Canadian-based importer Hamilton Spill. From 1995 to 2005, he worked at Fraenkel Co., including as vice president of merchandising and vice president of product development and logistics.
At Trade Masters. Johnson will oversee 15 engineers, quality control people and product development professionals in Asia. In addition to overseeing product development, he will work to strengthen factory relationships and develop new ones in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and, eventually, Cambodia.
He reports to President Ron O'Dell.
"It's a sales-driven organization," Johnson said of Trade Masters. "They have a lot of good things happening already, and we're going to improve on that."
O'Dell said, "He's exactly the type of individual with the experience we've been looking for over the past few years. He'll be an asset for years to come."
