Richard Allan Corbett, industry sales rep

Shreveport, La. — Richard Allan "Rich" Corbett, a home furnishings sales representative in Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi, has died as the result of a car accident. He was 54.

Corbett represented such lines as Stein World, Rose Hill, Legends, World Concepts, Comfortaire, Kenroy/Hunter Lighting, Hitchcock Brotherfield Art & Mirror and Union City.

He had worked with accent and occasional furniture specialist Stein World for four years, said President Richard Olmeda. At the upcoming High Point Market, Stein World will honor Corbett by dedicating a sales meeting area in its expanded High Point showroom in his name. The company also plans to name its salesperson of the year award in his memory.

"He was the consummate salesman and was as dedicated to his dealers and to their business as anyone could possibly be in that role," Olmeda said. "No one worked harder and no one worked smarter. He was a wonderful friend and colleague."

Corbett was a member of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. and its Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi chapters.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
