Organizers of the China International Furniture Expo here this week report they have booked all space available.

The show has registered 1,662 exhibiting companies, up from 1,520 at the 2006 edition. It has boosted its net floor space by 107,000 square feet to 1.13 million square feet.

Last year, the show had 175 international exhibitors.

This year's event will take place Sept. 12–15 at the Shanghai New Exhibition Center, the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum and the Pudong Exhibition Center. For a listing of exhibitors, visit www.furnitureinchina.com.

This year's event will be held in conjunction with the second annual meeting of the World Furniture Congress, set for Sept. 11–12 at the Shanghai International Convention Center.

Furniture and industry association executives from a number of countries are expected to attend.

The theme of the Congress is "Globalization: Influences on Cooperation and Development."

Topics to be addressed include the impact of the World Trade Organization, furniture consumption from a macroeconomic perspective, environmental issues and new materials and technologies.
