Bernard Christianson in larger showroom
Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, February 11, 2008
High Point — Occasional and accent furniture importer Bernard Christianson will expand its showroom here in April to help accommodate a growing line, which will include an assortment of case goods.
The showroom, just off the main entrance of the Atrium at 430 S. Main St., will grow to about 6,000 square feet, up from the current 3,500 square feet.
Along with existing pieces, the showroom will feature 40 new occasional items at the April High Point Market. It also will showcase a new bedroom group sourced from the Philippines and a dining group sourced in China.
"We're really excited to be able to grow our company and grow our space, said Chris Pfaff, president. "Our traffic has been terrific here at the Atrium."
Bernard Christianson formed earlier last year and showed about 15 SKUs at the Atrium in March. It showed a larger line of medium to upper medium-priced goods in October.
The line is made from 35 species of hardwoods and veneers and has a mix of traditional, transitional and contemporary styles.
Items ordered in October will hit retail floors in February, Pfaff said, noting that the company reached its sales goals for the market. He said it has even larger sales goals for this year.
The company also has launched a Web site at www.bernardchristianson.com that shows the full product line.
