Smith EVP at Barcalounger

Tualatin, Ore. — Former Berkline/Benchcraft executive Larry Smith has joined upholstery manufacturer Barcalounger Home in the newly created position of executive vice president and chief marketing/sales officer.
Tom Yow, CEO of Barcalounger Home, said Smith has five operating divisions under his direction: Barcalounger Recliners, Barcalounger Motion, Stanton Upholstery, Stanton Leather and Serta Perfect Day & Night Upholstery and Sleepers. Smith will be based in Rocky Mount, N.C., and will report to Yow.
The company said one of Smith's primary responsibilities will be to grow the new Barcalounger Home brand.
"Our future strategic commitment to leadership and differentiation in innovative design, functionality, operational support and marketing brand development will further enrich the experience of our valued Barcalounger Home retail partners," Smith said.
Smith has been in the textile and home furnishings industries for more than 25 years. Most recently he was senior vice president, corporate merchandising, marketing and sales, at Berkline/Benchcraft, where he spent 18 years.
