Standard changes guard

Bay Minette, Ala. — Longtime Standard Furniture Chairman Bob Hodgson is retiring after more than six decades at the case goods company.
Billy Hodgson, who has been president and CEO, will become chairman. Mike Peters, who has been chief financial officer, becomes president and CEO. Both men have been with the company for 29 years.
Bob Hodgson began with Standard when the company was founded in 1946. Today, the manufacturer and importer is best known for its Kathy Ireland Home by Standard line.
In a statement, Standard said, "We thank Bob Hodgson for his hard work and his passion for the company and its employees. He has been and will continue to be an inspiration to the industry as a whole."
Kerry Nickerson, who has been the company's vice president of finance as well as corporate secretary and treasurer, has been named chief financial officer.
