High Point — Organizers of the 2008 All-Industry Convention have extended the deadline for early registration for the May event to March 31.
Early registrants receive a $150 discount from the registration fee of $799 for members of the sponsoring associations and $899 for non-members. Anyone signing up early also becomes eligible to receive one of three $500 gift certificates to be awarded each day of the convention by the Home Furnishings Insurance Group.
The National Home Furnishings Assn. and the American Home Furnishings Alliance will host the May 2–4 event at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. It's the second time the groups have sponsored an All-Industry Convention. The first was in 2006.
Spearheading plans for the 2008 event are NHFA's Dennis Novosel, president of Stoney Creek Furniture in Stoney Creek, Ontario, and AHFA's Kurt Darrow, president of La-Z-Boy.
They said the agenda is aimed at identifying areas of concern for the industry and providing guidance in finding solutions and building business. It will emphasize accelerating consumer's interest in home furnishings, exceeding consumers' expectations by viewing the shopping experience through the customer's eyes, and effectively leading the next generation of younger employees.
