By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 17, 2008
Guangzhou, China — The 21st edition of the China International Furniture Fair will be held from March 18–21 at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou.
In addition to indoor furniture, the event will include a new casual component called the China International Outdoor & Leisure Products Fair. Homedecor & Housewares China will continue to be held during the same week.
A second new component, the China Kitchen Furniture & Appliance Fair, will be held during the second phase, which takes place March 27–30. The second phase also features Hometextile China, the China International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Raw Materials Fair 2008 and an office furniture component.
The shows will encompass 4.6 million square feet for exhibits, more than twice the space devoted to the events in March and August 2007.
This year, the later show will move to Sept. 8–11 to accommodate buyers' summer schedules. Previously, organizers said, many U.S. and European buyers were on vacation in August. They expect the new dates of the export-driven event to draw more international buyers.
