IHFRA elects Craven head

High Point — Jim Craven, president of the Tennessee Furniture Travelers, has been elected the 70th president of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn.
IHFRA chose its 2008–09 slate of officers during its annual board of directors meeting here earlier this month.
Craven has been a member of IHFRA since 1991. He has been a sales rep for Fairfield Chair since 1989 and has represented Cresent Fine Furniture since 2001.
Furniture has long been important to the Craven family. Jim's father, Tex, was a furniture rep until his death in 2007, brother Mike is a sales rep in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. territory, and brother Mark is vice president of sales for Fairfield Chair.
Joining Jim Craven on the IHFRA Executive Committee are Ed Myers, Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn., first vice president; Sandy Dant, Home Furnishings Representatives Guild of Southern California, second vice president; Mark Scharff, Metropolitan Furniture Assn. of New Jersey, secretary/treasurer; and Richard Gillispie, Virginia/Carolinas Home Furnishings Representatives Assn., chairman of the board.
