Bedding/metal beds

Bemco

In recognition of the company's association with the U.S. gymnastics team and the upcoming Olympics, Bemco is introducing three new mattress sets: the Gymnast Bronze, Gymnast Silver and Gymnast Gold models. The Bronze is a two-sided firm bed, the Silver is a two-sided plush mattress and the Gold is a two-sided pillowtop. Suggested retails range from $599 to $899.

Marketing programs: Bemco's spring sales incentives include vacations to Myrtle Beach, S.C., a Bemco cruise to the Cayman Islands, Cozumel and Key West, and Bemco's 44th annual golf tournament at the Country Club of Whispering Pines, N.C.

Carolina Mattress Guild

PS 1-559 (The Bedding Center)

  • Natural Living line of seven sleep sets touts a green bedding story with models featuring encased coils, coil-on-coil construction and all-latex constructions. Retails start at $899.

  • New EZSleep line is also being introduced. It features mattresses and a foundation that are ready to assemble. The beds come in boxes which can be shipped via UPS. Retails for an RTA spring mattress will start at $599. A queen-sized RTA foundation will retail for about $175.

Corsican Furniture

The traditional-style Marie iron bed has decorative scrollwork on the head and footboard and detailed acanthus leaf and medallion shaped castings. The suggested retail is $3,200.

Five Star Mattress

PS 1-628 (The Bedding Center)

New promotional to mid-priced bedding line was recently launched by the owners of Serta. It has contracted with Serta for production of the line, which is designed to give retailers branded bedding components with a strong value story. Retails range from $299 to $999. Company is making its first showing in High Point.

Hooker Furniture

  • Two new metal beds being offered this market are the No. 945-95 and the No. 946-95. The No. 945 model has a silver-gold finish and the No. 946 model has a gun metal finish. Both are available in queen, king and western king sizes as well as headboard only.

  • The Sterling Ridge collection also includes a wood and metal bed that has an aged pewter finish with bronze highlights. The wood elements are made with hardwood solids and cherry veneers.

Joya Sleep Systems by Garme

PS 1-542 (The Bedding Center)

Joya Sleep Systems by Garme, formerly known as Garme USA, is the new U.S. division of Spain's Garme Colchones. Company is showing its Bob Timberlake Signature Series, and its new Precious Gems collection. Joya positions itself as a leader in memory foam mattresses based on its ergonomic research, its use of high-quality materials, and its use of advanced and sanitized production methods.

Powell Co.

NFM 100

  • The Evington daybed is a transitional-style piece in a gray and bronze finish. The $299 bed features scrollwork details in the frame panels and turned case finials.

  • The Elkin has a classic scroll styling in the panels and comes in a classic silver finish. Daybed, full, queen, king and twin headboard models are available from $89 to $219.

  • The Kawayan is a contemporary-style frame in a bronze finish. Posts resemble giant bamboo shoots. Daybed, full, queen and king sizes are available from $99 to $249.

Sealy

One Office Parkway, Archdale

Focusing on its new flagship Posturepedic line, which features a number of new support and comfort elements, including a redesigned innerspring unit and pressure-reducing foam pads. The line was designed to eliminate tossing and turning, a major cause of poor sleep, caused by pressure points, according to the producer. The new line, retailing from $599 to $2,000-plus, was designed in conjunction with Sealy's Orthopedic Advisory Board.

Therapedic

PS 1-535 (The Bedding Center)

This Top 10 producer is highlighting two lines that are part of its Kathy Ireland Home collection. The A Café line, featuring mattress ticks with various coffee colors, can start at $399 or $499, depending on the retailer's needs. In addition, the company is showing revamped J du J models that could retail as low as $699, and will top out at $999. The covers in that line, designed to bring the excitement of the garden indoors, include a celadon green tint. J du J is an all-foam line that provides value at significantly lower prices than other foam lines, according to Therapedic officials.
