IHFRA presidential, awards gala set for April 5

High Point — Jim Craven will be installed as the 70th president of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. at the group's Presidential Gala and Awards Ceremony here Saturday, April 5.
Also taking office will be Ed Myers, Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn., first vice president; Sandy Dant, Home Furnishings Representatives Guild of Southern California, second vice president; Mark Scharff, Metropolitan Furniture Assn. of New Jersey, secretary/treasurer; and Richard Gillispie, Virginia/Carolinas Home Furnishings Representatives Assn., chairman of the board.
IHFRA also will present the Rudy Steltemeier Award for 2008 to Paula Shoemaker of the SouthWest Ohio Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. The award honors an IHFRA member who has demonstrated the qualities of outstanding service to fellow representatives as exemplified by Rudy Steltemeier.
Chapter of the Year Award will be presented to the Midwest Furniture Club (formerly Greater Midwest Home Furnishings Assn.).
The Charles B. Costar Dean of IHFRA Award recognizes quality of service and dedication to IHFRA and its chapters. Recipients for 2008 are:

The gala's cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. and is sponsored by the Furniture Transport Group. Dinner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person.
