Cost Plus settles suit with WMC

Las Vegas — Cost Plus World Market and the World Market Center say they have settled issues raised by a lawsuit that Cost Plus filed last year demanding WMC drop "World Market" from its name.
The agreement will enable the World Market Center to continue using the name. WMC said the litigation has been dismissed.
Asked if there was a financial consideration in the agreement, WMC spokesman Andrew Maiden declined to disclose any further details.
The parent of the Oakland, Calif.-based Top 100 company Cost Plus World Market filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Nevada last year, claiming that the similarity between the names had caused confusion in the marketplace.
