Frampton, Sunshine Band to perform at Oct. market

High Point — Two legendary rock acts and a country music star have been booked for the "Stars Under the Stars" concert series at the October market.
The nightly entertainment series kicks off with KC & The Sunshine Band on the market's opening night, Oct. 20, followed by Peter Frampton on Oct. 21 and Jo-Dee Messina on Oct. 22.
"Our entertainment this spring was very well received by market guests, and the Stars Under the Stars continues to grow in popularity," said Brian Casey, president of the High Point Market Authority.
KC & The Sunshine Band, led by Harry Wayne "KC" Casey and Richard Finch, is best known for dance hits such as "That's the Way (I Like It)," "Shake Your Booty," "Get Down Tonight" and "I'm Your Boogieman."
Frampton's 1976 album "Frampton Comes Alive" spent 17 weeks at the top of the U.S. charts and remains one of the best-selling live rock albums of all time. Hit singles from the album include "Show Me The Way," "Do You Feel Like We Do," and "Baby I Love Your Way."
Messina's hit singles have included "Heads Carolina, Tails California," "I'm Alright," "Bye-Bye," and "You're Not in Kansas Anymore."
