Art Van hires Glucksman for new VP post

Warren Mich. — Art Van Furniture here has hired Steve Glucksman as vice president of new business development.
In the new position, Glucksman is responsible for identifying growth opportunities for the Top 100 chain and will "work closely with the executive team to create strategies for new initiatives," the company said. He reports to Gary Van Elslander, co-president of the 30-store Art Van.
Glucksman has been in the industry for more than 20 years, most recently as president and CEO of the former Nationwide Mattress and Furniture Warehouse, the Norcross, Ga.-based Sun Capital Partners chain that was liquidated earlier this year. Before that, he was president of the former Brandon Home Furnishings in West Palm Beach, Fla., and CEO of Thorn Ltd.'s Crazy George's in the United Kingdom.
Art Van noted Glucksman's "success in start-up, growth and turnaround situations in both private and publicly held companies."
