SAUGUS, Mass. — Former retailer Len Bloomberg received a pair of honors last month from the National Home Furnishings Assn.'s New England Chapter, including the Arthur Adelizzi Award.
Sixty industry members gathered at a luncheon here last month to honor Bloomberg, former owner of Today's Home Furniture, Swampscott, Mass., who was chapter president from 2002 through 2006.
The Arthur Adelizzi Award is named for the late president and chairman of the Home Furnishings Assn. of New England (whose members are now part of the NHFA New England Chapter) and president of the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. Bloomberg was honored for his contributions to advancing the goals of both his fellow retailers and factory representatives.
Chapter President Joe Quintal of Rotman's Furniture, Worcester, Mass., also presented Bloomberg with a second award in appreciation of his five years as chapter president.
The luncheon and awards ceremony followed a morning tour of Jordan's Furniture in Reading, Mass., hosted by Eliot Tatelman, the retailer's president and CEO.
