HIGH POINT — Matthew Boswell, a rising senior in High Point University's Phillips School of Business, has received the Ollie Bieniemy Jr. Endowed Scholarship.
This scholarship was set up by Furniture/Today founder Steve Pond to honor Bieniemy, who was the publication's first advertising director from 1976 to 1983. Bieniemy left Furniture/Today to join the Atlanta Market Center as director of sales for publications and special projects.
The Ollie Bieniemy Jr. Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a rising senior in the Phillips School.
“The award is based on academic performance, university and community service, extracurricular activities, uprightness of character and work ethic,” said Jim Wehrley, dean of the business school.
Boswell, who has a grade point average of 3.99 of a possible 4.0, is on track to receive his bachelor of science in finance and entrepreneurship from HPU in May 2009.
